Snowboarding: a week in Krasnaya Polyana near Sochi

A week of classes with instructors on the slope. The Absolute center is a place for meetups and reviews, not the seller of the week. The center is getting ready to open.

Coming Coming: there is not a single class here until the legal and partner questions are settled.

A path card is a reference to masters’ classes on the map, not a curriculum: the school sets no outcomes, does not check them and issues nothing.

First day
Learning to fall, get up and glide — with an instructor who states that the resort has approved them.
Edges and turns
Every day on the slope in the morning; after lunch, a video review with the instructor.
Housing and food
A room with AbsoHomes hosts, food from the AbsoFood kitchen. Each part comes from its own seller.

Open run
If you feel like it — a run together with everyone: linked turns from edge to edge. In the evening — a review. This is not a test.

Safety

Only classes by instructors who themselves state the resort’s approval make it into the path. The school does not check it — look it up on the resort’s list: fill in: which resorts and where their lists are.
A helmet is a must. Off-piste and the park are not part of this path.
Housing, classes and transfers in one bundle at one total price make a package tour, and only a tour operator may sell it. Here you get each part from its own seller.
With health conditions or pregnancy — check with a doctor.

In every path and programme the school publishes

Entry step and goal — on the AbsoLive 0–10 ladder
Stages: which classes, what practice between them, where the open class is
A master or mentor with a name and a page on AbsoLive
Safety: what to ask before starting, where the activity area’s limits lie
Terms for every class: a price or “free”, cancellation and refund — before sign-up; no non-refundable payments and no cancellation penalties
Length — “an estimate” or “a sample”, not a promise
For body and movement — the line “with health conditions or pregnancy — check with a doctor”

What is known about the leader

There are no “verified” masters here. There is what you can see, and what the leader confirms themselves.

Who sells each class and on what terms — on the class page
A master’s AbsoLive page may show ★ and a “Verified master” badge — these are AbsoLive’s marks. The school does not award them and does not rely on them.

The 0–10 ladder · Snowboarding

From · step 1: First day — First day: I learn to fall, get up and glide with one foot strapped in.
To · step 3: Linked turns — I link turns: from heel edge to toe edge and back.

The 0–10 ladder

0 · Terrace I see the slope only from the café terrace — mulled wine in hand.
1 · First day First day: I learn to fall, get up and glide with one foot strapped in.
2 · Falling leaf I go down in a "falling leaf" on my heel and toe edges.
3 · Linked turns I link turns: from heel edge to toe edge and back.
4 · Blue runs I ride a blue run in arcs, without falling.
5 · Carving I carve a clean arc on edge instead of side-slipping down the slope.
6 · Park I hit the park: I jump a kicker and ride a box.
7 · Backcountry I ride powder with an avalanche transceiver, a shovel and a probe.
8 · Contests I compete in slopestyle or big air.
9 · Instructor I teach riding and get beginners on edge from day one.
10 · Legend I win Olympic gold in the halfpipe, like Shaun White.

The steps come from the AbsoLive ladder. On abso.live you can mark your step with the “I’m here” button — once signed in; only you see the mark. The reckoning is your own, no tests. The school runs no courses or exams based on the ladder’s lines and awards no titles — those belong to others.
